Emma Noseworthy is a young woman just entering the world of textiles. She was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and has lived there her entire life. Emma is currently enrolled in the Textiles: Craft & Apparel Design program at College of the North Atlantic. She is majoring in Weaving and Print and Dye. Emma has exhibited her work at the Quidi Vidi Plantation, The NL Craft council's annual Christmas Craft Fair, as well as in the NL Craft Council Gallery.
I enjoy creating colourful, whimsical pieces of art. I usually start my process with a sketch and they often include multiple different mediums. I generally lean towards creating pieces that are relatively small but I will occasionally create a larger piece. Most of my inspiration comes from books, video games, cartoons, and anime. I do this type of work because I'm a hands on learner and I enjoy working with my hands. I became really interested in textiles when I was in the seventh grade, and my passion for the arts has only grown since then. I'd like for my art to appeal to anyone who wishes to enjoy it.
